The 30 x 100 Thimble Adapter has proven to be the most popular and useful size
for in-stack sampling applications. Versatility is now available with one
sampling unit. All available collection media can now be employed, i.e.
cellulose, fiberglass and alundum thimbles. It has the capacity for all but the
heaviest loadings and yet is sufficiently compact and lightweight to offer no
significant handling problems. The alundum conversion accessory permits the
extension of operating temperatures to 1500 F. The rugged nature of the alundum
substrate permits the attainment of differential pressures limited only by the
suction capacity of your pump. Like the well established fiberglass thimbles,
this technique completely eliminates the requirement for probe cleanout. It too
is compatible with all brands of EPA-type sampling trains terminating in 5/8
inch Swagelok or Parker fittings.
