DESCRIPTION
Increasingly stringent air quality standards have led to expanding use
of wet scrubber systems to control atmospheric emissions. The main
requirement of a monitoring system in this application is to detect
breakthrough of gases due to scrubber failure. Unfortunately,
monitoring reactive gas concentrations in moisture-saturated air
streams presents a problem for conventional sensors; condensing water
tends to block lines and blind sensors. The Wet Gas Monitor from
California Analytical Instruments, Inc. has been developed to meet the
need for reliable measurements in wet scrubber outlets where the sample
may be saturated with water vapour. The system has been built to be
suitable to mount inside the vent / measurement point and as such there
are no sample lines to become blocked.
The system is available for strong oxidants (Chlorine, Bromine,
Chlorine Dioxide or Ozone), H
2S, acid gases (HCl
or HF), and Hydrogen.
