Method 7 Nitrogen Oxides Sampling Equipment
| Apex
Instruments offers two different options for sampling for nitrogen
oxide emissions. For Methods 7, 7A and 7B a grab sample is collected in
an evacuated 2 liter flask containing a dilute solution of sulfuric
acid and hydrogen peroxide. Method 7 normally requires the collection
of multiple samples at 15 minute intervals. The appropriate method
specifies the analytical procedure. Sampling kits include multiple
flask, sample caddy, probe assembly, valve and squeeze bulb assembly,
evacuation pump, pressure sensor and transport case. |

| Methods 7C and 7D |
| For Methods 7C and 7D an integrated
sample is passed through a series of full size orifice impingers
containing an alkaline-potassium permanganate solution. The sample rate
is between 400 and 500cc per minute, normally three one hour samples
are collected per test. The Model 623 is the console of choice,
however, we do offer a low flow orifice adapter (VUA-575) for
converting the Method 5 source sampler consoles for low flow sampling.
The Method 7C sample is analyzed colorimetrically and for Method 7D by
ion chromatography. Please inquire for additional details. |
